2015 Young Violists Competition FINALISTS

The Northern California Viola Society is pleased to announce the Six talented young Finalists who will be performing the afternoon of April 12th at Community Music Center in San Francisco for our 3rd Annual Young Violists Competition.

The six finalists, ages and hometowns are (in alphabetical order):

Austin Lai -  17 (Saratoga)
Hannah Park - 15 (San Jose)
Connie Song - 17 (San Jose)
Patricia Tang - 17 (Palo Alto)
Sophia Ines Valenti - 12 (Santa Rosa)

Congratulations to you all, and thank you to all others who applied and sent in your recorded auditions. We were very impressed with the overall variety and quality of the applicants and we are excited to hear your performances in the live Final Round on April 12th!

Each Finalist will be performing two movements of solo Bach and a movement from the standard recital repertoire, plus one etude of their choice from the book of 16 Fantasy Etudes by Lillian Fuchs.
